Flood Disaster in Bangladesh: Our Relief Efforts Continue
A devastating flood occurred in the southeastern Bangladeshi cities of Feni and Chittagong due to the opening of dam gates in India and excessive rainfall. The flood has affected 11 million people, and it has been reported that at least 67 people have lost their lives.
1 MILLION PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE DISASTER
William Spindler, spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), stated that the Cox's Bazar region, which hosts nearly 1 million Rohingya Muslims, has also been affected by this disaster.
EMERGENCY RELIEF CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED BY JUST HUMAN
As the Just Human International Aid Association, we have launched an emergency relief project in Bangladesh. We distributed aid supplies and food packages to flood victims whose homes were submerged or who were unable to leave their homes due to the flood.
DELIVERY BY BOATS IN FLOODED AREAS
In the Feni region, where roads were submerged, our emergency aid team, SAYEK, used boats to reach affected communities. The team distributed emergency relief supplies and food packages to flood victims via boats.
NO ONE WAS FORGOTTEN, INCLUDING SCHOOLS AND ORPHANAGES
In Feni and Chittagong, the epicenter of the flood, our team reached over 10,000 flood victims with emergency aid materials. Additionally, SAYEK visited schools and orphanages, ensuring that food distributions were carried out there as well.
