As Just Human International Aid Association, we completed the construction of a mosque to address the lack of worship spaces for Muslims in Uganda’s most densely Muslim-populated region.

A REGION WITH A LARGE MUSLIM POPULATION: YUMBE
Located 550 kilometers from Uganda’s capital, Kampala, and near the Sudan border, the Yumbe region is home to the country's largest Muslim population. Despite being one of Uganda’s most highly populated areas due to migration, Yumbe lacked a mosque for Muslims to gather and worship.

MOSQUE INAUGURATION IN THE REGION
To address the cultural and spiritual needs of the local community, we initiated a mosque construction project. Started in 2022, the project culminated on August 18, with the inauguration of the Ibrahim Ceylan and Family Mosque, completed in collaboration with IHH.

A CAPACITY FOR 500 WORSHIPERS
The inauguration ceremony, attended by Yumbe residents and our association team, coincided with Friday prayers. After the prayers, we distributed copies of the Quran to the local community.
The newly opened mosque can accommodate 500 worshipers daily, addressing the long-standing need for a place of worship for the region's significant Muslim population.
